Flying blue has 25K tickets to Israel (20K Starwood) but currently those are only good through 01/31, so you'll need to wait for an extension.

Most other airlines require at least 40K Starpoints.

AA requires 80K miles to Israel with a stop or 90K nonstop on El Al.
20K Starpoints=25K AA.

What do you mean by wait for an extension? Are you pretty certain they will extend it? I thought it was a promo they are currently running similar to PC pointbreaks in that sometimes its available at the reduced rate and usually its not...

It's pretty much always available from some cities in the US.  It just depends which cities.

A lot.  Figure on at the very least $75/leg.

Any ideas what cities have popped up recently for Flying Blue promos to Israel?  I know its EWR and IAD now, but is there any way to look at more of a history, to see what the potentials are?

I was looking on this link: http://www.flyingbluenews.com/promotions/spendingmiles/promoawards.html
It seems they offer it for various cities for 2 months at a time. For example now they are offering from 12/1/09 through 1/31/10.
I would assume the next offer will be from 2/1/10 through 3/31/10.

If they always do two months at a time and i need to fly 4/7/10, they would not open up that time frame until 4/1/10...It seems crazy to wait till then to book and would therefore not be an option for me.
How does anyone ever book using this method if their dates cross the deadline? Such as flying from NYC to TLV on 1/25/10 and returning on 2/1/10...am i correct that one would not be able to do that?

For Israel there will be heavy fuel surcharges with BA.

You can book one-way at the promo rate.

In this post: http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/5290 you mentioned that during that promo, one city had an additional month to complete travel by. Is it always/usually 2 months at a time?

Sometimes they extend certain cities by a month or two.  Tokyo and Shanghai seemed to have been there for the last 6 months!

Why not transfer your SPG into AA? Your 35k of SPG will yield 40k of AA giving you a total of 90k AA which is enough for one ticket.

Hey guys need some advice on some Israel tickets please

I need tix from ORD to TLV and my dates are flexible as follows..

Can leave (ORD to TLV)

July 21 afternoon/evening
July 22 morning
July 25-28 anytime

Can come back (TLV to ORD)

Aug 17-19 anytime
Aug 22-24 anytime

I am looking for 4 business class tickets with least amount of stops and least amount of layover time.

I have plenty (more than enough) of points/miles to cover the flights either through SPG, Amex MR

Just really looking for how to get the best flight options at the best price (points)

Also wanted to get hotel suggestions for Yerushalyim .. Are there any good point transfer options out there to get good hotel deals now that spg is done in yerushalyim and if so please explain.

Any advise would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Sruli
