best credit card with no annual fee

I'm new to this whole thing. Ive been using thank you points for the last 3 years and I'm looking to find the best credit card for mileage. I don't want any fees, since I'll probably forget to cancel, so I'm not ready for churning yet. Any suggestions?

Thank you points used to be decent, but are now terrible.

Also even if you forget to cancel a card that has a fee for the 2nd year, as long as you cancel within a month of the annual fee appearing on the statement then you can cancel the card and get the fee taken off.

Is that true with the AA mastercard as well?
