Reading alot of the app-o-rama proposals can be really challenging. This seems to be a good concise method. Just copy and paste:

Chase:
Bold: Approved
SP Visa: Pending
UA Personal: Approved

Amex:
Platinum Card (Mercedes): Approved
Business Gold: Approved

Citi:
CitiBusiness AAdvantage: Approved

Barclay:
Lufthansa: Pending

The question is will chase be interested in giving her anything as the only card under her name was opened 2 months ago, the other card she has she was only an AU on although it was for about 10 years.
I don't see why Chase should approve her.

If you do a 2BM for 2 chase card, hopefully you will get an instant approval for both.

They won't have an answer, probaby b/c there is not set rule about it. If there was, Dan (and many others here) would have been AA'd by now.
+1, Even if you got through to the right people at Chase, they wouldn't divulge this proprietary (and valuable) information.

I thought about it, but I didn't want to start with Amex for a few diff. reasons.

Fair enough, it's your credit, use it how you'd like :)

If you do a 2BM for 2 chase card, hopefully you will get an instant approval for both.

Pending may mean denied. Start looking up the reconsideration numbers.
Good luck.

Updated results:

His:2x citi aa- approved, citi dividend-pending (I haven't called yet). chase sp-approved, ua-approved. barclay nfl-approved.

Hers: 2x citi aa-declined, citi dividend-declined. chase sp-declined, ua-approved. barclay nfl-declined.

Can I churn an SPG card if I currently have an open SPG? (like it used to be with citi aa).
If not, how long does it need to be between closing the old one and applying for a new one?

You can, but you might have to explain why you need to SPG cards.

FYI, your post doesn't belong in this thread, you should have posted here.

Any ideas of what to say to them if they ask?

With 8 or 9 active Chase cards, should I close any before applying or still hope for recon to close for approval. IME from the past, when recon sees so many accounts they're reluctant to approve me for more cards regardless of what I offer to close.

If I'm losing cards, should I reallocate the CLs or let 'em drop off to keep my overall credit with Chase not-too-high?

Given the recent abatement in AAs, I'd close and reallocate.

Would closing help? If I recall correctly the people that were A/A'd, Chase factored in the closed accounts as well.
