Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Advice needed!
« Reply #8341 on: December 20, 2017, 11:23:17 AM »
My friend suggested that I post on Dans Deals. She said maybe I can get advice from this forum. I am disgusted by my experience with American Airlines today. I booked seats months ago in economy plus for my family to make sure we had room for the babies. They just took them away without telling us. First, they told us we dont have any seats and cant fly. Then they said my 4 year old needs to be separated from us and put in a different part of the plane. Finally, they found seats and put us in economy. It was the most uncomfortable flight possible. The babies kept hitting their heads on the seats in front of us. The lady in front of me was complaining every time my baby's head banged into her seat. It was so stressful for no reason and ruined our vacation. I don't want to fly American again.

How did they take away your seats if you had confirmations and paid for economy plus?

How many seats did you buy?
How many passengers?
Were your original seats in an exit row?
How did you book your tickets? AA.com? Priceline? Over the phone?

amazing babysitter in yerushalayim!!!
« Reply #8348 on: December 29, 2017, 09:56:33 AM »
i live in brooklyn and i went to israel with my husband and infant. before i left, i networked with my cousin who lives in israel to get a babysitter so i don't need to take the baby with us during the day. i BH had the most incredible sitter ever that i felt the need to post on this forum (i never post on forums) so this way anyone traveling to israel with a baby has a babysitting lead. the babysitter is a very newly married chassidish girl whose husband is in brisk kollel and she herself has an infant. she was as kind as possible and i felt comfortable leaving my baby with her for 9! hours at a time even though my baby got sick on the trip. when i picked up my baby, at like 10pm! everyday, i got back my 9 month old baby who was in the best mood (she sings when she's in a good mood!). the sitter lives right off the machane yehuda shuk. i asked the sitter if i can give her info out to anyone traveling to israel and she said yes. this girl doesn't work as a sitter, she does something else, but she was happy to be hired to babysit in her house.
please email me myenglishman@gmail.com if you would like the sitter's contact info.

Best Keep an MR card to retain the points, if not transfer to what you'll have a use

If you're looking to sell them Aeroplan is probably your best bet.

Most people really only buy Canadian Amex to AC anyway.
