Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

When applying for multiple cards from different banks that pull from the same credit bureau does it help at all to apply all at the same time so the banks don't see the new pulls coming from the other banks? Does that work?

I'd like to apply for the Club Carlson card but US bank pulls from the same bureau that Chase pulls from and I usually try to avoid any pulls since I like to keep my Chase options open.
(Same reason I stopped applying for Barclays cards, they also pull from same bureau for me )

Club Carlson is supposed to be really tough to get for churners.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Ah, good to know.
That's a shame, it has a lot of value for Europe especially with the free night after bookiing 2 nights.

Hmm...

Does anyone here have any experience with this card?

Q- If I get the card for someone else can they book me a room and get the extra night free without them having to check in?

Depends for who.

I already have some Club Carlson points. This card gives 85,000 enough for 1 night and change. Add that to my total and with every 2 nights I book I get a third night free.

Good for redemptions  in Europe and other places. Not really the US.

And if it doesn't pull from same bureau as Chase or Amex for you then that's an extra benefit as well.

That was quick  :)
And does the 60 days you have to cancel and get the AF back start from when you applied or from activation?

Neither, when you get approved.

You can make your wife an AU on your account, then when you close her card, or do it vice versa, then with a phone call you can transfer. Never tried it just what I have heard.

You could always cancel the AU  within 60 days for a full refund, although they've given me a hard time once, it usually works.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Is there a thread about Chase having to follow the word of a phone rep? I was told I would receive 50,000 UR for upgrading my Sapphire card, but now they are saying I am not eligible.

 Any ideas?
