Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

It would be great if this was an option.

Can someone remind me what being notified in  7-10 days means versus 2 weeks with Chase?

7-10 = declined

2 weeks = being processed

The cards listed above are the ones you have, or the ones you want? I couldn't understand?

I usually just apply for the SP version I don't have (Visa, Mastercard) and close down the other to get it approved. And I usually close down the Uniteds and move over the credit to a different card currently open and then apply.

Or maybe not that bad since you are transferring the credit (on the united)

And how is that? What way doesn't?

Just applying and shifting the credit via reconsideration. Or it's the same?

But if I do what sky121 said I get the good cards no? Better points value.

You can do the SP and knock out one of the others that I suggested. The 50k from SW and BA are more than the 40k from SP.

Not understanding. That's what churning is. If you want to get a SP when you already have one then sky's way is the way to do it. Same with united. If you wanted to get a new card you do not have then you can apply for it and offer to transfer CL from other existing cards.

But if I do what sky121 said I get the good cards no? Better points value.

More points but not necessarily more value.

So shifting credit does not make a difference if done via reconsideration or via reallocation?
