Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Why would it male a difference.
Why do you put in such a high amount
Maybe they doubt the income amount, and want to verify the likely hood of it more...

Maybe that is how much I earn?

Would writing a higher income $200,000+ on a chase application be any reason to not receive an instant approval?

I know a guy who wrote 2.2 million (I understand its alot more than 200k) and he got denied because he needed to prove it....which he did.

Could be 200k is much different.

That amount would be in line with certain professions.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Hi. I just applied for the Amex Platinum Mercedes card and Starwood Personal and got approved through the reconsider line. It said pending so I called. Should I apply for the Starwood Business today since its only one pull or am I risking two pulls. Should I apply for any other Amex cards today like Hilton...? I already have a Amex green, gold, regular platinum and gold business. Thank you!!

true. That's why I don't want joed25 to freak out if he gets 2 pulls for business and personal, since there are definitely reports of that.

I hear what you're saying, but according to you we shouldn't give definite answers to people since they may not have the same results as us.

depends on the situation. You can say more likely A but B also happens, so the guy knows his risks.
