Does anyone know if I bought an airline ticket on my Chase Sapphire Preferred does it automatically come with some sort of travelers insurance? (I just got back from a trip and i had a lot of stuff stolen)

Also if there is, do you know the limit?

Was it stolen on the flight, or in between flights? What's a suggestion for a good first Amex? I applied for the Prg six months ago but was denied. I have improved my credit since then and want to try again. I am looking for MR, airline or hotel points (not cash back) and am based in Israel so probably won't use it much after minimum spend (FTF). Are certain cards easier to get approved for then others?

I recently acquired a bunch of new CC for their signup bonuses. I don't plan on using them for general spending though. I understand that canceling them right away isn't a good idea and that keeping them open and making small charges each month will improve my credit score. My question is, how long should I wait before canceling them so that it doesn't negatively effect my score?

Dan has written that even after you close an account it stays on your record for 10 years.

But the banks don't like you being too obvious about getting cc's just for the sign up bonus. So that's a reason to keep it a while. Of course you have until after the annual fee posts on the anniversary to close.

Correct. That helps for "age of accounts" reason. But not for "credit utilization" reason.

If you do close the cards try to shift the CL's over first.

hi i have a chase freedom and non preffered sapphire card and Im looking into signing up for united mileage plus card but it says my miles wont expire as long as Im a cardmember. am I able to transfer the miles to my ultimate rewards program(are they already in ultimate rewards?) so I could cancel the card before the annual fee kicks in?

If you're asking if you could transfer united miles to UR points the answer is no.

But if you cancel your united card, the miles are not lost. They expire in X years if no activity in the account.
