Can bad credit of an au affect the primary cardholder negatively?
I dont think so.
No.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

About 6 months ago I had an AU card overnighted, but had to request it. It may depend on the account (been w/ them forever w/ a lot of use, but AU SS is not on file)

@EMES

Whether or not you add the AU's social to account,  it doesn't make any difference regarding responsibility.
They will not at all be responsible to pay the bill.

A joint holder is responsible.

It depends on the issuer, not the type of card (and even the issuers that require, there are workarounds). Either way, no responsibilities, as others already pointed out.

So from one phone call with Chase you're drawing conclusions to the entire CC industry? Interesting cognitive workings going on there.

Amex in the T&C's state they can hold the AU responsible for the AU's charges.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

I did not know that. If that's the case, I stand corrected.

On a side note, if they don't have the AU's ss, what can they do to go after him?

They can get the SS# from a soft pull of a CR.

Not really. They have no info other than the name (which even that isn't always correct). How would they know which John Smith you are?

You sure about that? They can get someones full ss from a soft pull??

Anyways, if the AU doesn't live at the same address as the primary holder, how will they have thr AU's info in order to do the soft pull?
