never. first amex card ever
finally got a letter in the mail saying that I need to fill out a 4506t to prove income. is this normal for a new amex account? Is there any recourse around this? I cant prove all that income, because household income is included, and I'm not interested in giving amex my tax returns

I've seen cancelled applications many times, either they cancel because there was a previous application which wasn't approved so they don't even bother pulling a second time, or they're missing certain information, such as correct address matching your credit report. call the new accounts department and ask what the problem is

I'm just warning you, though, they can really make you jump through hoops at the new accounts department and you're not guaranteed anything, especially if you're a brand new member

Don't worry, you just need to show some income. Obviously you don't need to show all, because there might be members of your household not included in your tax forms which you included on your income calculation for them

I like your signature, does that fresh perspective include teaching you how to edit a post, so you don't have 3 separate posts? lol. thanx for the reply

i applied at the end of march for biz the spg account was denied cause i already had 5 credit cards with amex they said thats the max i can have . so i closed my personal spg and requested a reconsideration. after about 2 weeks they said that they remain with previous decision and wont approve my application . what can be my next step to get approve?  also i recently had a fr and my credot lines were significantly slashed.

HUCA. Simply ask them why the answer would remain the same if the facts changed. It's possible they still will not let it slide, but give it a try.
