Can you do this at the counter by the gate or only the check-in counter before security?

You can do by any ticketing desk. But there's no reason, as you can do this over the phone as well.

With AA (booked via BA) I cannot print my boarding passes online if I do that. I wanted to know if I can get to the gate and then add the infant.
