Open jaws
« on: February 17, 2010, 10:20:28 PM »
Hey guys,
Which airlines allow open jaws within the US for the 25,000 mile level?
And is there a limit to how long the stopover can be?
Thanks

Most airlines allow open jaws for 25K miles on domestic tickets, but most do not allow stopovers for 25K miles on domestic tickets.

Either
JFK-LAX-CLE
or
JFK-LAX, (ground transfer) LAS-JFK.

So how do I go about booking a Jfk-fll-Lga ticket? Is it done online or on the phone? Is it different with various airlines?

like by almost everything, every airline has its way to deal about it.

Generally speaking, the online checkup tool is pretty primitive, and only checks for simple returns.

I dont think that would be considered an open jaw as they are both in NYC

Correct.
Most airlines would let you book that online, while few can book an open jaw or stopover award online.

Some site would even have the chutspa to give you an option of a stopover where they dont tell you that the following flight is leaving from another airport, and sometimes its even physically impossible to catch the next flight.

I had this with NYC airports, London heathrow/gatwick, Shanghai airports,...

Basically, the connection is definitely valid, and not even considered open jaw.
