You can totally 3bm this with other Amex cards.

No current Personal Amexs and just one Business one... worried I won't have a shot at 3bm. That why I'm gonna 2bm this time... IYH I will get to 3bm with amex someday!

You have nothing to lose IMHO, play the recon/reallocation game if necessary.

Only thing is I don't want to jeopardize my getting approved for the 30k spg... If I can have just one that's what I want. I really wish I was more familiar with the recon/reallocation game (Amex edition :)  ) but due to my having been F/R before I'm def an amateur in the Amex dept....

I have about a 760 credit score (no negatives other than credit pulls, etc.). . . 10+ year card history. I have only applied for about 1 card every few months until I applied for 5 cards during the past two months. I've only ever owned two Amex cards, both opened in early 2011 and closed early this year. I think Amex will pull Experian where I live, and I have three Experian pulls in the past month and, like I said, a total of 5 new cards in the past two months. Income multiple 6 figures, very little credit utilization. Am I likely to be approved for the Amex SPG?

Were the 5 cards all separate apps?

Unfortunately, yes, but only 3 were on Experian, which is what Amex is likely to pull in my state. So hopefully Amex will only see 3. . .

Try to freeze Experian

Don't try to freeze EX. AmEx will just insist you open it (if that's what they pull).

Sorry for my bad advice. I didn't realize Amex wouldn't let that slide. Thanks for the correction AJK!

So it sounds like the 3 pulls are much more of a problem than 5 new accounts?  (Experian shows all the new accounts already). . .

Yes Amex will care about how many pulls and how many AMEX accounts you have more then you overall accounts...
