Dan, to make it easier, there are 4 hashgachos that almost everyone eats-

-Badatz Eida Hacharedis
-Shayris Yisroel
-Landau
-Rubin

Then there are some chareidi hashgachos that alot do eat and some don't-
-Agudas Yisroel
-Belz
-Chasam Sofer- Petech Tikva
-Chasam Sofer- Bnei Brak

Then you have Rabanut Mehadrin which is very complicated. Basically you have some that never eat it, some that always eat it, and others who will only eat after asking a rav who looked into the restaurant personally.

Most nice resturants are either rabanut mehadrin or agudas yisroel- very few nice badatz resturants.

There is also Machpud which even most non-sephardim eat as it has the reputation of a top hasgocho. For example, entracote is machpud and most people eat there.

ISRAEL IS MORE COMPLICATED 4 SURE

You have to be pretty brisker not to eat landau and shearis. Of course there are people who only eat badats EC, but I was speaking about almost everyone.

that you dont eat shearis I understand, but Landau is probably the best unbiased hechsher with rubin.

I don't think getting Political is what I'm looking to do, but suffice it to say that, yes, I'm pretty "briskish"(my alma matter) and that shearis I didn't eat for valid (imho) kashrus concerns.

yes, I get and agree to you, and somehow your username didnt make me think you were in a monastery or so, however Landau is probably the best hechsher around.

the only reason someone wouldnt eat landau is purely political, as far as hashgachos go its one of the best. the reason why someone wouldnt eat shearis is because in the past they had some issues although they might have righted the ship. the reason why someone wouldnt eat belz, however, is because its not a good hashgacha.
if yehivaman would be a brisker, he certainly would not eat rubin.

I wouldn't say that "Belz is not a good hashgacha". Most people outside of Brisker circles would probably disagree

personally, what most people agree to or not, is not really relevant to me. if you go with that approach, apparently decks in tiveria is good too, although last i checked they dont even have a hashgacha. id like to know what people in kashrus think

on a side note, i got your message. where can i bring the book?

To cut a long story short: for people like me, who are basically neutral, in the sense that I'm not chassidish, litvish, etc, and look strictly at the feedback from mashgichim, history, and so on, and the political aspect has no value for me, I conclude the following:badats, rubin, landau, and yes belz too, are good hechsherim (allthough politics will want to drag down belz and landau), and she'eris is not a very good hechsher (although politics want you to believe it is; they had major "strops" in the past).
For a hechsher to function well you need lots of syata dishmaya, so hechsherim ike landau, where they removed once a hechsher of a butcher that used fool language, promotes siyata dishmaya, however, she'eris who was built to try to eradicate other hechsherim, has obviously less syata dishmaya and its only natural that so many mishaps happened there.
As a result, I would by far prefer rabanut yerusholayim mehadrin over she'eris.

For those who are going to say:"... but the gedeeylim signed for she'eris", I have the following to say:lots of things that the gedoylim sign (or supposedly approve off) is basicly the gaboims views imposed on the godol.

super, instead of cutting the story short, youre unfortunately distorting it. belz was started because the chassidus wanted to get in on the game and unfortunately dont know the fine details of kashrus and what goes in to a hasgacha. as far as shearis i dont care how it started, the bottom line is that apparently today the food they certify is kosher and thats all i care about. rabbanut mehadrin used to be a fine hashgacha until a mizrachi guy took over the helm and instituted numerous kulos which for the most part made the hashgacga irrelevant today

Belz is a huge chassidus, and probably one of the finest today. Why shouldn't they have a hechser of themselves. They had no idea how to do it seems a bit far fetched, as there are halochos and they are there for everyone.

She'eris was was made to 'destroy' the others, and that's why so many 'mistakes' happened there.

About rabanut mehadrin, I didn't know about the change of events, and will check it out. Anyone on this forum knows more about it?

To Dan: usa aren't so easy. When I asked an american if OU meat was ok, he answered me, depend where it comes from...
Cholov akum not being an issue by a lot of people is easier indeed, but not for non-us people, as they mosty don't go easy about it.
