the point youre missing is that there is a lot more going into hashgacha than just knowing how to pasken a halacha

Just tried Marvad Haksamim (Magic Carpet) last week. In my five years living here I must say it was probably my best dining out experience. The food was excellent (try the red kube soup and mag'dara), service was attentive and quick (the five of us were out in just over an hour) and the prices reasonable (600 shek including tip and we were stuffed). It's on Emek Refaim, the hechsher is Rav Machpud (one of the better ones around) and if you go to www.rest.co.il/marvad you can see some of their food along with their menu, and a coupon for a free desert. It doesn't match the ambiance of Keyara, but overall it wins hands down.

There is knowing the halocho, being a yirai shomayim, and not involving politics or finances is what counts.

SuperFlyer, that is exactly what I meant when I said that I don't want to get political, because your post is really devoid of real facts & just saying what you want to be true & presenting it as fact. Posters should not be the ones deciding who has "siyata dishmaya" or not. The beef with belz is an old one, that they opened up they're hechsher without any thought to the practical aspects of how a hechsher runs in the 21st century. I won't even go into your sheairis "naarishkeitin".

& to the guy who called me out on my brisker credentials for eating R Rubin? I dare you to ask the next 10 people who learn/learnt in brisk. you will see.
i wish i knew what i was doing...

I saw brisk comments, but didn't know whether true. But as you agree yourself to it, the discussion ends here, as being a brisker itself makes you(r opinion) biased.

To add to your wifes income (if married) you might want to consider writing a book. I even thought already of a title.

Acting in a Brisk manner.
Balancing between brisk and the internet.

that would be me, and obviously there is a difference between someone who learned in brisk and someone who is as you say "pretty briskish". someone who is "briskish" i.e. a brisker or someone that goes in that derech hachaim wouldnt get close to rubin with a ten foot pole. While before i thought you probably did learn in brisk, i now have my doubts, if you couldnt make that distinction.

Moish, just so you know, being a brisker does not mean following the crowd that calls themselves briskers. How many Chumash Shiurs did(n't) you go to that you don't understand that the core principle of brisk is Emes? If you just want to follow the crowd to call yourself a brisker, you wouldn't eat from eidah either! but you do, which is funny, because a bit of informed research will have you know that Rubin is better than eidah, just that thr eidah is running a more effective pr machine. look at what's going on now in geula! I recently returned to visit and all the stores that R Rubin wouldn't certify when I was a bochur, all have eidah chareidis now. Its possible that Rav Moishe Halberstams passing was the cause of this because his brother, Tchokover rov, whom is in charge of the kashrus division of eidah chareidis, wouldn't do anything without his approval. now he's gone...
i wish i knew what i was doing...

I sense some telepathic forces here...

One can see whether the other understood a chumash shiur?

YeshivaMammal you are freaking us out here...

On a more tachlesdige note.

I spoke to one of the members before, and it seemed like a good idea for people referring a restaurant, to include the best gps input to get them there (if possible), or a parking advice, if its a problem over there.

The official address of a resto, is sometimes a tiny street which besides to have a dead end, its also a one way the wrong direction, and you reversing come abruptly to a halt after a BAAM, followed by cursing in hebrew at 200mph.
The cheap resto just became an expensive outing.

well just think of all the Miles you just earned OK an American just earned. Instead of ahving the CC deal with the rental company simply have the rental company charge your CC for the damages and the CC repay you

Meaning, a total loss for a bmw 7 series, would mean a return tix in first from the usa to tlv?   ;-)
