Changing from Stopover to Non-stop with infant ticket
« on: August 09, 2012, 11:59:40 AM »
If I change a flight with a connection to  a non-stop (flying on UA) is my infant ticket still valid?

If you change the whole PNR the infant should go right along with you.

Right- but is the infant's ticket still valid? I think officially you need to pay and change the ticket- but I was looking to hear people's experiences with this.
And sorry for not mentioning this before- this is an international award ticket.

I honestly don't know the answer to that.

I doubt anyone has the answer. Elal might not have even discussed this yet.
I can't imagine they wouldn't manually reissue the infant ticket. I guess we should know by Monday.

Does LY also save paying the OTAs when you switch to non-stop? If they process it as a cancelled ticket+reissue (maybe even switch PNRs) they might get a way with it. Then again, they probably don't wanna piss them off

I wasn't asking this question for the ElAl deal. That's all anyone has on their mind :)
I was asking about a regular UA award ticket with a stop over and changing that to non-stop if it becomes available.

Non-issue then. The will void the infant ticket, and reissue. You will have to pay the new price for the infant

Argh... Even if I'm waitlisted? Doesn't it go through automatically?

Waitlist or standby?
If a waitlists goes through, there is a msg on the reservations to call United, and then they reissue all tickets, and adjust all taxes and fees accordingly
On standby I think you just keep your same tickets

Waitlist. I didn't realize they make you call first. Too bad.

When I had to change an infant ticket, I was charged 10% of the regular change fee. This was on a 10% infant ticket.
