How Do You Organize Your Files?
« on: August 10, 2012, 11:31:31 AM »
With CC apps, deals, etc., etc., going on, I'm always looking for new ways how to stay organized, here are a few things that I do:

1. I have a Google Spreadsheet with all my credit cards and programs info. That's every single program I have! I include all necessary
info, Login, Pass, due date, Annual fee date, associated email address.

2. I have a spreadsheet for all pending scenarios. E.g. A credit that I'm expecting to post. I include confirmation numbers, person I spoke with, and a follow up number.

3. My filing cabinet is very detailed, I put all new things first, this way I have an idea where to start looking within each folder. I never know when to through things out  :-\

Turn on the new 2 step verification although that won't help you if your computer itself is hacked and the hacker want to delete your email

I use KeePass, an encrypted database that can store anything (though its intended for logins and passwords). I use one strong password to protect all my stuff (cc #'s, etc) into this one store.

It also synds with iphone.

Maybe i'm old fashioned but i'd never store anything sensitive in google.

<edit>
Also for non-sensitive stuff, evernote is great.

LastPass (free) is a great plugin for chrome which stores passwords and usernames

KeePass is, though I don't use the browser integration feature, just never found that I actually needed it.
