If one needs to take out a large sum of money any of you by any chance know what the max that you can take out from an ATM in Bank happoalem?
I know forsure 1000 shekal.

If you want to take out more you have do multiple withdraws.
Only the Casmonat - the ones not connected to a bank lock you out. The Bank happoalem won't.

Leumi allows 4000 per withdrawal, Discount/Mercantile  4k/8k depending on how much cash the machine has.

I live in Israel and use Chase Debit card for up to 5X per month with no ATM charge or international fees and the Sapphire for every day spending.

if you have a Metropolitan Commercial Bank debit card you can make cash withdrawals at any ATM and ALL ATM transactions are free. and all FT are at a 1% rate which is the least you could get for a debit card    metropolitanbankny.com

I think that there is one bank in Boro Park what does not take any fees

You could also make your son set up a student account in one of the Israeli banks and wire in money from a bank what doesn`t charge any wire fees.

what bank doesn't charge a fee for an outgoing international wire?

And which Israeli bank doesn't rip you off on an incoming USD wire?

Chase CPC, IINM.

But yeah, setting up an Israeli bank account is a pretty bad option far as sending money is concerned, unless they need more than $20k a month.

Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

In which case there’s a bigger issue than the bank fees

curious what budget do you have in this account?
You must have a decent one to keep these fees waived.
