Whats a Desktop Deal:

There are many factors you need to take into account in order to make something a deal. Manufacturer, Product line, Specs and warranty are usually what to look at when figuring that out. You need to consider prices as well, sometimes you get a price so hot that it doesn't matter what company it is.

Generally speaking here are the guidelines for Intel processors:

i3 8th Gen processor - Under $300 is usually a hot deal, Under $350 is decent
i5 8th Gen Processor - Under $400 is a Usually a Hot Deal
i7 8th Gen Processor - Under $600 is a Usually Hot Deal

to be continued....

Paging @Yisroel Tech and/or @DanH

What do you think of refurbs? I need something cheap that the kids can knock around. I'd like to stay under $200 and I'm not wasting money on a new machine with a celeron so I figured I'd try my luck with a refurbished.

On that note, I don't want a ridiculously outdated refurb so I found this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883286466 for $179 AC

Your thoughts?

If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

I'm not against refurbished in general, but wouldn't recommend this specifically given the old age of the PC and processor.

I7 is certainly not super cheap! What are you using it for? For most things an i3 desktop (not laptop) is great of you can get an ssd.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I really just want to get something that will load quickly and be able to handle multiple spreadsheets, and multiple open internet tabs and YouTube in the background. I figured a cheap way to get i7 was a desktop but if an i5 desktop w sad would be fast then great
