transfering ba avios to iberia
« on: August 31, 2012, 04:48:55 PM »
I'm looking to transfer some ba avios to Iberia plus but the csr told me because I didn't have any activity on my ib account in the past 36 months I need to do some activity and then I could transfer it right away.
Does anyone have any experience with that? Would converting Mr points to ib count as an activity?

Does anyone know if the transfer from BA to IB is instant?
And can it be freely transferred back to BA (instantly) if need be?

BA - Iberia Combine My Avios problem
« Reply #6 on: October 22, 2012, 11:16:26 AM »
I am trying to transfer from BA to Iberia and I keep on getting the following error:

Combine my Avios was unsuccessful

Combine My Avios is currently unavailable

Your move has failed. We have emailed a confirmation of your transaction to the following registered email addresses:

    Your British Airways email address:

For reference purposes, here is the transaction id: CMA-11005978
To talk to someone about this problem, you can see our phone numbers here, quoting reference CMA-11005978

The email states that the transfer was unsuccessful. The Avios were withdrawn and redeposited into my BA account.

My account is about 120 days old with no activity.

Anyone else have this issue? Someone told me that the problem might be that my account has no activity. True?

Thanks to all.

If anyone's interested, transferring Membership Rewards worked in activating my account and I am now able to Combine My Avios.

transferring BA to Iberia Avios Issues
« Reply #11 on: August 18, 2016, 10:46:04 AM »
Has anyone encountered difficulties transferring BA Avios to their Iberia account. (yes, my account is >90 days old and I've already transferred in MR points)

I'm getting back system errors when trying from both ba and iberia's websites.

"Sorry, the details of your accounts do not match"

Could this possible have to do with my first name being duplicated on my Iberia Plus Account? The BA rep didn't seem to think so, but he also didn't sound like he had a clue what he was talking about.

For those interested, it turns out Iberia duplicating your first name on your account will cause points transfers to fail. The only restitution is to email Iberia and they will resolve the name error "within 42 days"...

Is there anyway to search on iberia.com for award availability?

or

Only if you have the needed amount of avios in the account can you search?

And lastly is the paid flights which can be searched for very easily the same openings as the award availability?
Thanks a lot for whomever will respond to my question.. :)

When you log in you must select use Avios and search that way. You do not need points in the account to search and revenue has zero to do with award availability just like every airline other than Southwest and JetBlue

While using Avios to fly will you get the same origin and destination as paid flights?

I saw somewhere that Quatas.com was another way to search for flights from iberia, is that information correct? I was specifically looking for a short flight from nyc to yto(toronto, canada) and had no option to put in for canada, where I can search where such an airline flights leave to and from ? Thanks

Really crazy....im finally starting to understand why dan is very much praising united for their 10k flights for domestic flights, (like canada and short haul flights..)
Besides for ba which once upon a time had great search availability, and now stinks. (really depends when you want to fly with ba because if you go onto aa.com and look at the next month's award availability there are tons open... )

I guess united will be my last option..
Unless you would know by any chance if using iberia avios would get you from nyc to yyz? Thanks for your time...

If there's availability on AA, BA can book it. IB is not dependant on other award charts

That means what ever award availability I find on iberia.com that's what they have open?
