Barclay reconsideration line: 866-408-4064, Mon-Fri 8AM - 5PM EST.
The 24-hour number is 866-408-4064
New 24 hour number is 866-205-5973
you can finally fax documents to Barclays the number is 866-836-6959

Based on the phone reps, an application usually remains in the system for 90 days, during which you can ask for a reconsideration.
However, if 30 days have passed, it will incur another hard pull.

There have been a few reports of Barclay pulling credit again when reconsidering - even when specifically asked not to.
Make sure to explicitly tell the rep that you don't want another credit pull. The benefit of such action would be that if later you see they did pull your credit you can call up and speak to a manager and have the pulls removed (based on first-hand accounts from this thread).

If you want to guarantee that you don't get another pull, freeze your credit report.

While Barclay recon reps are usually very tough to deal with, there have been sporadic reports of them reconsidering by reallocating credit-line from other cards. Additionally, there are a few reports indicating success with the 3BM.
Personal and biz didn't combine

Barclay recon reps take notes of each phone call and subsequent reps usually regurgitate the previous rep's reply.

Barclays has a 6/24 rule similar to chase 5/24. Not hardcoded like chase though.

I used a 3bm to apply for USairways, Arrival, and B&N. When I called recon they said that they needed to verify my employment information and that I would have to show proof from taxable income. I had written "other" by imployment and explained hang I'm supported by family. Will HUCA work? What can I tell them?

Funny enough, a few hours after my call, although I was told the application wasn't good, I received email approvals for two of them. I still want to call again though about the third one. The arrival was the main one I wanted.

Applied for Arivel online and was aproved, then applied for U.S air card by phone and was denied.
Called recon and they said you have too much credit, asked to move over credit line from my M&M card, they said they didint want to give me another card now, then I suggested he close my M&M card and move over the credit line and was aproved!
WIKI definately needs to be updated...

Barns and Noble. Nothing special but was doing a 3bm so I figured Id just choose something else from Barclays to add.

Why? Wouldn't you rather your credit line to go to the cards you Want to spend on?

My wife's credit file is only a few month old. She has a regular Arrival card with $500 CL. (The balance now is $510)
She applied for the Plus and was denied.
Called recon, said that the chip is important and blah blah. They asked for employment info for the past 3 years, for which my wife hasn't really prepared an answer, so there was a lot of stuttering, "I don't really remember" and "I have to look at my files". They asked if the stated income (60k) was household of individual (she said "individual, I think") and she was APPROVED!!!
CL is $750. They said the computer won't allow any higher.
Also, at first they said that in order to approve, they might need to cancel the regular Arrival, but they didn't end up mentioning it.

I guess I'll have to pay the balance in the middle of the month to reach the 3k threshold. (I know it's not the best thing to do, but I'll only do it once for a small amount)
I hope I'm able to meet the threshold, as AP is no longer with us.

So my wife got a hard pull. (I think they told her though)
The weird thing is, that there is no pull for the application itself. Anyone ever had this?

So my wife's Arrival Plus has a $750 CL, which makes spending difficult.
If I use bill pay to pay 2.25k will it let me use 3k?

Thanks

I keep getting denied because of too many recent accounts, and hucaing is proving futile as the reps keep repeating the previous ones. Any ideas how to proceed?
