Is any one on the forum going to an interesting place for slichos tonight. I plan to go to Park East where Helfgot will be leading at 10:30pm. If you are going from CH and can offer a ride, mah tov u'manoyim!

Nice. I saw the ad in the JP. Saw another ad for some Shul in the Hamptons having Chazzan Hershtig and their choir. Also saw that YI of BP (IIRC) is having Chazan Bentzion Miller and other "goodies".

no just in recent years the show became to large so they had to look for a bigger venue

Helfgot and the choir were tremendous. I noticed that Avraham Fried came with his son to experience. It was a full house.

How much were tickets?

It's great that they make it early, so you can enjoy the "show" and still make it to slichos at Chatzos at the location of your choice (I'll assume that that's what Avremel did

).

Tickets were $50 a piece, though I suspect that had one contacted the office in advance, admission could have been discounted or free. Selichos ended at about 12:35 or so, so there was definitely time to make it to a 1:00am selichos if one was so inclined.

Inclined? CMIIW, I though Slichos is for Sunday, no? So why would you say it before Chatzos?

You seem to be confused. It is Sunday once it hits Tzais of Saturday. Days of the week do not begin by chatzos of the night before in Jewish law. That only occurs in secular law.

Correct. however there are halachik issues with saying selichos early, but that applies every night of the week

did helfogt himself make it back in time to his ger shteibel to say slechios?
