Would you recommend a novice like myself (although I consider myself somewhat handy) not to attempt to do it on my own? Or is it tedious but fairly simple (with the help of YouTube of course)? Mine's a droid DNA.

So you need to check if just the glass is replaceable, or if the LCD, Digitizer (touch) and glass are fused together as one (like in the iphone and many other devices).Update, Did some googling for you and here is what i found:They can be separated, but it is extremely hard and very likely you will crack the lcd in the process. You can buy the full assembly, but seems quite expensive.Also people mentioned that there are international versions of this phone and parts don't match 100% so make sure you find your correct part.See here for some useful info.
