Would you recommend a novice like myself (although I consider myself somewhat handy) not to attempt to do it on my own? Or is it tedious but fairly simple (with the help of YouTube of course)?
Mine's a droid DNA.
Watch a few YouTube videos and decide for your self. You need to realize there is a small risk involved.
Have you ever opened up/fixed any electric device before? If no, I wouldn't recommend experimenting on an expensive phone.

There are usually a few hidden flex cables that if you aren't careful, will rip them and cause damage. This is especially true with iphones etc

I did some research and I'm confused about what I need and where to buy it.
Do I need a light guide? Lcd? Anyone with a link to the specific DNA parts I need?
Much appreciated.

Seems like just the glass. Touch works fine. See pic attached.

So you need to check if just the glass is replaceable, or if the LCD, Digitizer (touch) and glass are fused together as one (like in the iphone and many other devices).

Update, Did some googling for you and here is what i found:

They can be separated, but it is extremely hard and very likely you will crack the lcd in the process. You can buy the full assembly, but seems quite expensive.
Also people mentioned that there are international versions of this phone and parts don't match 100% so make sure you find your correct part.
See here for some useful info.

Thanks for the info!
So it seems the 195 quote from Nobletech in flushing or the the 185-220 quote I got from HTC ("depending on what needs to be replaced") might be the way to go.

Sorry for reviving such an ancient thread :D .
My brother's iPod Nano (7th Gen) screen cracked. Is it worth fixing? Or will it cost almost as much as buying a new one?

Well the unfortunate time has come. I dropped my iPhone right before Shabbos, and this, it did not come out so pretty. Any idea where to get it fixed in Manhattan?
