United Mileage Plus
« on: April 15, 2010, 05:45:49 PM »
Now that I'm sure many of us are getting the 50k from the new offer, does anyone have any advice as to how and rack up more United miles or transfer them in from elsewhere? I can't find any good transfer route or earning method except using the card.

get the Amex Gold CC if you havent already , they will transfer over at 1:1 unlike SPGs which are 2:1 that will get you up to 100K min, then use both cards till you have enough for a Biz tkt to an Intl place UA flys to, then start to say Tehillim that a Saver tkt will be available when you want to use it

Why can't I just add 25k to get me a 75k coach ticket to TLV on a *A carrier?
Are you sure AMEX MR transfer to United? I just looked and didn't see that as an option?

Whoops ,You are Correct. I was gonna move the 25k to my Moms UA acct too when she got them, back to the drawing board on that 1

with SPG for both UA & CO its takes 2 SPG pts to equal 1 mile, all others (except ElAl which goes by pts and Lan with KMs) its 1 SPG = 1 mile , so by transferring them from SPG to UA or CO you will be taking a bath = getting 1/2 the value had you moved them elsewhere.

Im not sure if ANA is with SPG and if they do 1:1 + the bonus that might be a better way. But unless you have no other way to get Ua miles I wouldnt want to do it at 1/2 the reg rate. You could always get the Biz CC and that I think is 30k as well forBonus for getting the CC. then of cause tehers the oldest way = actually flying and crediting the miles to UA

Apply for a business card.

Oh nice, I thought of that but didn't see one on their site, but after digging I found it in an odd section- not by the credit card promos, but by business stuff-

Any way to avoid the annual fee?

Anyone else having issues logging in to their Mileage Plus account?
The log-in page says that username/email login is currently unavailable, when I login with my account number it tells me to contact CS.

I'm a united mileage plus card holder but I forgot to use the card when I booked my united flight. Is there any way to still get priority boarding? I called united and they said they can't do anything. Any advice. Tia

I got an email from United saying that if I book a hotel with "rocketmiles" by 10/31 I can get 3k miles, and then 1-10k additional depending on the hotel. Anyone familiar with this?
