what im saying, $178 Billion doesnt evaporate overnight.
Icahn as an insider knows more then us, if he feels comfortable giving a $200+ Target Price im comfortable with that too. i will take $175 any day :-)

So in just 1 year Apple is worth less than half Icahn's target price?
Icahn must be a genius we must all listen to.

As I said:

Icahn isn't Apples daddy in any which way.
He's just playing the system making outrageous predictions and constantly revising them up.
You would think he has financial interest in pumping up the stock. Oh wait, he does...

I really believed that AAPL will close today somewhat in the green (based on my very own feelings),
What an anti-semit this Icahn is....

The market is actually open another 15 min, it could still change

Your prediction was wrong apparently.

What's the reason for the AMZN jump?

Exited AAPL @101, after which it went up to 107 before coming down to current level.

Any thoughts on good reentry point?

I'd reenter now, based on my very own feelings...

Feelings? Technical Analysis? Fundamental Analysis? Insider info.? What makes you "feel" this way?

IMHO while AAPL is obviously slowing down and has some challenges ahead, they are still a HUGE cash machine. So I think it's a good stock to own, the only question is what's a good entry price (money is usually made when you buy right). My previous (split adjusted) entry point was around 56. Based on that entry price the current dividend yield would be around 4% (I think it was around 3% when I last bought).

ALK looks good at 70.
I expect it to go up 15% within 3 months.

Anything specific that makes you expect that?

Anything specific that makes you expect that?

1. I've been holding for a long time so I have a good feel for the bottom and where it bounces back to.
2. ALK is coming off of another record high quarter for like the 50th consecutive quarter. (Somewhat exaggerating).
3. P/E is ridiculously low for such a well performing company. Their usual P/E always hovers around 12-13, so it's due to rebound.

In what bizzaro world is $70 a "bottom" for this stock? Testing a ceiling and then retreating in no way is called a bottom.
I'm an optimist; but only because life isn't going to give me any other good choices.

I've been following this stock for 3 years. They have grown profits quarter over quarter for I think 6 years in a row. They are anticipating more of the same for the next year. The stock has usually been around 12-13 P/E (which is also ridiculously low considering their amazing growth), now it's at 10.74. They had a record quarter once again and it's inevitable that they go back to normal prices.

I know that I will say I told you so when the stock hits 80 soon, but I doubt you'll be here to respond.

Don't make it personal.

The stock has touched 80 several times already. I'm not arguing or agreeing with your predictions in the slightest. Just pointing out that its ridiculous to say 70 is a bottom for a stock that was 20 3 years ago and basically just gone straight up from there to where it is now.

You know why it's 70 now? Because they more than tripled their profits since then. And consistently every quarter have beat the quarter before for many years. If you think that the number 20 is relevant you are just extremely dumb. Sorry for making it personal for you too.

You make interesting points.

How about talking about a P/E  bottom rather than an absolute price?

The other question is how does the Virgin America purchase affect the value. Most people see the purchase mainly as a strategy to block JetBlue from purchasing Virgin America. They paid a hefty $ for that, and that might be the reason for the current drop, which might be a case of "this time it is different".
