I think it’s usually the other way around, as memory could be managed (e.g. by storing things in the cloud), but hardware specs and iOS updates can’t. I’d take the newer model.

Asking rhetorically: What’s your use case for the iPad, and is this your primary device? Also, how big is the price difference and how significant is that amount of money to you?

If you’re getting something for your kids, I’d say get the cheapest one (iPad 9th gen WiFi 64gb), and a good durable case.

+1 choosing a Ipad is always about the use case.

I currently have a cellular iPad that I use for work.  I use it rdp to my windows computer, have artsscroll shas, learning materials form the go and it's great. I like that I do not need to hotspot to my phone to have connection.

Cellular iPads are more niche and are more expensive (with less sales).

As a android user, there are not many reliable options for tablets with cellular capabilities, in fact almost none.

Cellular iPads are best acquired with carrier promotions. T-mobile business has data plans that are $10/15/20 a month (YMMV about whether device promos apply, it might not work which is why I haven’t posted about it)

Im looking for a WIFI only option

Between the 9th Gen with 256GB
And the 10th Gen with 64GB

Is it worth the newer model with quarter the memory?

Both similar price

The question is what is the primary use case...

Watching videos?
Browsing?
Do you have a cloud storage account with apple or anyone else?
If you plan on having 100s of tabs open in the browser?

Also check what BG have been paying for iPads to know what a good deals is for the device you're buying.

Main usage is going to be Banking and general apps like email and messaging apps

Not going to have hundreds of tabs open at once but i want it to be a fast device and not have to wait for things to load Etc.

I have 1TB storage by google.

Basicaly i want a fast device for day to day usage fast downloading of documents excel sheets etc and be able to have multiple apps open together

Will the x4 storage not make the device stay faster for longer when the memory gets to 50%+ capacity

And what are the main upgrades on the 10th Gen compared to the 9th Gen

I don’t think flash memory performs that way, at least not noticeably so.

Here’s a comparison chart, if performance is important to you the iPad 10 has many performance advantages including 33% more RAM.
