I have a RT ticket one way is W class and one way is H. When I check my reservation online I don't have the option of changing seats (and even not to take an economy comfort seat).

I called up United to try to upgraded miles+$ but I got confused answers from the reps, one rep told me that it's a bulk ticket etc. one rep told me that i am able.

Are these classes upgradeble ?

Check the website for the upgrade rules, W/H has different amount of points + co-pays for the upgrade, plus there needs to be upgrade space

Completely different picture. The last time UA was showing the lowest fare available was H! Now they have g6.

I didn't know they would zero out anything less than H and then as the flight gets closer add seats in cheaper buckets.

Most often happens exactly opposite.
