MCI is better than BNA for the eclipse due to the smaller chance of clouds.

I'm going to make a thread soon about the eclipse, I feel like I've had this conversation too many times now :P. Let me put some consolidated info out.
Is the chance that significantly different?

Absolutely. Compare St. Joseph to Nashville on this graph.

Can't see the link. Regardless I'd think a highway network through the line is more important than a 10% higher chance of clouds so you can move if necessary. I'd research it more if we weren't expecting  a few weeks before the eclipse.

Try this link.

Regardless, MCI area has a 30% greater chance of clear skies, not just 10%.

And yes, good east-west roads are critically important, but you want to maximize your chances. Being based in an area with a 30% greater chance of good weather is a no-brainer.

Fakenews. Most meteorological sites that I see show the difference to be much smaller, like 10%

Looking for a two-hop vacation this summer for a young couple. (doesn't have to be in order )Hop 1) exotic, beachy, , but not over run with tourists i.e. like  Hawaii is. Cheaper than bora bora and Maldives, yet nice enough for a good 3-4 day relaxing chill.  Tznius and anemites are important. Hop 2) adventure and activities for a week (plus a place to spend shabbos with locals/ chabad. Can travel a country. Going to go in business class most of the long flights , so would like different and diverse ideas. Zika a no-no.
Have 200k UR, 200k Hilton, 100k United

I don't think there's any place left that's "exotic and beachy" and no zika at all other than Hawaii.

Seems that Hawaii ticks most of your boxes except for the touristy bit. The answer to that is Lanai or Molokai, or to a lesser extent, the Big Island.

If you want to get into the intricacies of zika (amount of risk, different parts of the same county, and so on), you may have a few more options.

link 1, link 2, link 3

Jay Anderson is considered the foremost authority on predicting eclipse weather. The chart I originally I linked to is his. Now:

Link 1 - Has no info as to what data is being presented, most glaringly the time of day. Sourced to Jay Anderson but disagrees completely with the data on Jay's own site, and is a totally different style to boot.

Link 2 - Sourced to Xavier Jubier, yet this data cannot be found on Xavier's site. The only weather data Xavier has up is Jay Anderson's real maps and charts, and is in fact what I originally linked to.

Link 3 - Again purporting to be Jay Anderson's info, yet while the graph is styled as it should be, the data is completely different than what Jay himself has up.

So in summary, all three of your links lead back to Jay's data, and then is either clearly misrepresented or exactly what I posted. And so MCI remains the clear winner compared to BNA.

I just gave 3 examples, many more exist. And all dispute what you posted. And from experience in meteorology the numbers in the graphs you quoted are much too high, wouldn't be surprised if they were conditional on their being cloudcover or something like that.

I'm not saying Bna is better. Just that it isn't 30% worse.

Also what's andersons methodology? Don't have much time to review but it looks like a statistical as opposed to meteorological model based on very few years of data. If that's the case his numbers will have a HUGE margin of error. You can't just take 15 years of cloud cover data and average it, maybe smooth the results here and there.

Also, of course time of day matters, though it actually helps bna over mci from what I've seen. Definitely doesn't have a 50% impact in either location

if you can get Hilton free nights or points it won't. As emkay said as well there are Other options in koh samui and you can look into Phuket as well. There are some nice hyatts and SPG hotels that are better priced
