small business saturday in CH

Hamafitz is planning on being closed that MS.  he said it is not worth it for him to open up for a few customers.  please go in and ask him if he will be open.  hopefully, if he sees many people are interested in shopping there, he will reconsider.

better yet, ask him if he can take the cc numbers on thursday or friday and then swipe them motzai shabbos. and give u store credit

I wouldn't trust some of these stores, if they end up swiping after midnight you lost your SBS credits.

Least year Hamafitz was very accommodating (as in, letting me use multiple cc for a single purchase, using each for just $25). It's interesting why they would have a change of heart this year.

Maybe it somehow backfired or the new ownership was hoping it would be more lucrative than it ended up being?

With all due respect, they screwed many people over last year, because they didn't do a batch release until the following day. Everyone had to fight with Amex to get the credit.

They most likely got a lot of angry calls.

Also, last year that Motzei Shabbos coincided with the Kinnus Hashluchim, so they were open regardless.

if you only have 1 cc, then go to kingston pizza if you have 15,20+ might as well have store credit in a more worthwhile store.
last year he was open bc of the kinus. this year the kinus is the week b4 so hes not planning on being open.  if enought people ask him, maybe he will open up.  they were very pleasant last year and accomodating

That's true, but all i had to do was SM AMEX and they fixed it right away. Don't get why people would call Hamefitz before trying AMEX...

The only grocery that I know of in CH that is open on MS is Kol Tuv, but I hate shopping there...

When I am in Empire kosher this week, I will make a point of asking the manager if he can open that saturday night. If others do the same, he might be willing.

Last year, I swiped all my cards at Basil. It was a big hassle because they are very busy on Saturday night. My other thoughts for places here include Sushi Spot and Pomodori.

Last year I swiped 2 cards at the Chinese cleaners on Kingston and union and prime sandwich was also gonna do it for me but I ended up using the rest of my cards for chabad
