Nobo is a copy pf mikes after all ,and plus it has its own signature of chef josh , he is an artist in food ,a unique talent ,we don't have to many of those in the kosher industry unfortunately , i say mikes is more a legend ans brand name and over rated

Because it's better in my opinion and it's just over the bridge

I used to go there once a month or more when i was more to upstate side actually

Its a real combination of consistent best quality meat ,service , lower lousy vibe then nyc and super service , with a great selection of wine ,since they call themselvs nobo wine and grill

no reason to shlep but I guess if you're in the area why not give it a try. Also for some people who live in NYC and tried everything already they might want to try something new

Umm its not shlep ,

Its like you go from flatbush to izzys or from queens to izzys or people from brooklyn travel to marani or even from boro park to mikes bistro

If you mean that someone that lives in Manhattan and you have steakhouses by your foot then i can understand you,but most manhatan customers is from out of town

Its definitely not like to try something new , you don't have to many options either brooklyn ,Manhattan or queens close to experience of nobo

When I go to NYC I stay in Manhattan and don't have a car, so yes, it would mean a special shlep.

Then you definitely right , midtown manhattan to nobo or to reserve cut probably takes same time ,but without a car its difficult

I ussualy never order those because i hate good meat with sauce and of course not with sugary sweet sauce

But thier short ribs is worth to try and i think u can order it without the sweet sauce and they give it a sear in oven with a crisp ,

Their short ribs is like melt in mouth fat soft...drooling
OK quick TR:
Got, Apps:
Lamb Riblets- very good, the crispy onion crumbs add a nice texture and contrast
Ham & Potato Hash- also very good, again a great job of combining textures and flavors.
Veal Salumi Flatbread- was ok, they put a cauliflower puree as the sauce, i thought it overpowered the rest of the flavors.
Mains:
SV Duck 2 ways- Was the highlight of the meal, I never ordered duck before but wanted to try something different than steak. Its 2 pieces of duck, the breast and the leg. It was soft and tender, great flavors.
Short Ribs-  was ok, I guess im just not a short ribs fan. It tasted alright but nothing to rave about.

we also got mixed drinks (I wasnt in the mood of wine), nothing special.
All in all, was a very nice experience.

im sure mikes is better but how many times can one go to mikes.

It's one thing if you live out of town. But those who live in NYC are not gonna keep going to mikes over and over

Of course, but I'd like a proper comparison between the 2.

I've not tried either, in this instance, but as a rule, that is objectively not true.
