Had dinner at RC. Tacos were outstanding as expected. Mushroom soup was ok. Nothing major. We had the ribs that were very good and a steak (70- something dollars. Don't remember) was ok. Nothing to write home about. We also had fries that were pathetic. Felt just like the ones I serve at home that are re-fried from the frozen bag. Dessert was exquisite. We had the chocolate thing that has 10 different chocolate items. Absolutely heavenly. We also had the latte which was again- meh...
All in all I would still choose mikes bistro over RC due to the difference in entree. But I would go back to RC for those short rib tacos. Man they were awesome.

Desert:

Finger-lickin good!!

Went to rc for the $5 off per lunch specials, had some interesting new choices. Prime filet wasn't as thick Or as good as it has been sometimes (thinner and maybe I should have ordered rare instead of medium rare, also more peppery than usually though I was fine with that).
Carrot and coconut soup was excellent, and the pistachio machta dessert was great too. Had the BBQ Asian ribs last week which were in no way BBQ but were soft and pretty good, and great for a 29 lunch special (prob better choice than the filet).
carrot coconut soup
fillet with chunk of mushroom

interesting and pretty good pistachio dessert

Seems like dan should be getting commission from reserve cut as everyone here is going.

Went last night as well just for the chateaubriand and of course by 830 the waiter told me they ran out of it since 7:40. They only started serving it at 5:30. I don't know how you can have a special steak of the day and run out in 2 hours. Was really disappointed as the only reason I went was for that steak. Would have went to noi due meat if I knew this.

Mikes Bistro's chateaubriand was very good for me as well.
