Never heard of Noga. Is that on the same level as Noi Due?
It's new - I think it opened in December. It's located in a boutique hotel - Sago.
The food is not typical - you could see their menu here: https://www.noganyc.com/
Owners are same Bison and Bourbon - together with the hotel owners

Mocha Burger was pretty good (got BLT with egg, egg was a bit overcooked and bottom bun fell apart before I even started). Thanks @Yaalili

Pitopia
closed down and was replaced with broadway burger
Closed down and was replaced with a treif Black Burger.
I understand it's a tough business to be in but why kosher places don't last in Midtown?

The 34th St battle of "how many restaurants can you shove into one location" escalates ...

Paprika, added "Chicken & Kone" ( http://chickenkone.com/ ) which is a waffle cone with crispy chicken and a sauce topping of your choice. I spoke to the manager and they also have "Pitaland" coming which will be a fast food menu at a lower price point like Chicken burgers etc.
So they now have 4 menu's including Toastie.

Kosher in Midtown (aka Eden Wok) across the street has 6;
1)   Eden Wok
2)   Koshe Poke
3)   Pitopia
4)   Sushi Donut
5)   Teryaki Wok
6)   Buffalo2go

Mendy's is 2, including "Bedford on Park".

In other news "Basta", also opened up on that block- 34th between Madison and Park.

I know but how do all the treif places stay in business? Some of their costs are lower but so are their prices.

Ate at Boru Boru last night (97th and Amsterdam). Very positive experience.

Tried the Bao Buns (sort of like Asian tacos). 3 per order $17. They have a few types to pick, we had Pastrami and Chicken. Nice flavors, chicken was a bit burned on the outside, but the inside was tender.

For mains, I got the Pastrami Ramen, my wife got the chicken Ramen. Bowls are basic with broth, meat, tons of noodles, and a few vegetables for garnish. Both were good, each with a completely different type of broth. You can also select a few add ins for $1-2 more each. The chicken Ramen was $22 + extras, $25+ for the Pastrami. Honestly, my only critique was just how big the bowls were. I would have much preferred a smaller bowl for less money so we could get another app or 2. I spoke to the owner, who explained that a smaller bowl isn't going to happen anytime soon because it would be too much work for the kitchen. Next time, I might just get 1 bowl to share and ask for an empty bowl to pour into

Unique Saki menu. I got one that was dry, and one that was more of a semi-dry. Both were good. A 4oz pour is about $8-10.

Service was good, but place is tiny and cramped.

Bill for buns, 2 ramens, and 2 Saki was about $80 + tax/tip. We left very full. They have a small menu with probably about 7 apps, 5 types of Ramen, and 5 non-ramen entrees.

Overall, I say about 4/5 stars. Nice mid-priced meat option in the area that's not a burger place for a change.

Under Rabbi Avrohom Marmorstein (he is the Hechsher for Talias).

i remember seeing a stat about 5 years ago that out of 1000 restaurants that opened in NYC over a (?) year period Over 800 closed within the first 2 years.
It definitely isn’ just kosher that has it hard. Although to be fair I’m sure it’s harder for kosher.

Went to the new and nicer wolf & lamb (moved down the block on 48th). Definitely nicer, upstairs was really loud though. Downstairs was quieter. Spicy chicken tenders weren’t spicy (even for this old ashkenazi who can’t take spicy) but were decent esp when dipped into dill sauce. Chicken sandwich was also a little too bland. Onion rings were good but not amazing.

Any suggestions of where to order prepared/sealed meals to bring in and eat in a non-kosher restaurant? The non-kosher restaurant is italian style (pasta/fish/meat). Trying to keep it under $20.

Does a place like Tiberias do properly sealed meals?

I know Abigaels does, but probably out of your budget.

when the restaurant doesnt have something set up, i usually just get sushi as its the least likely to get screwed up in the little plastic container. if u are downtown u can get a 3 roll lunch special from Cafe11nyc
