Author Topic: How do you "unsubscribe" from a thread? (Read 7628 times)

It would not shock me to learn that this has been discussed before - or is even mentioned in the forums help section - but I haven't been able to find it, so humor me please.

When I reply to thread, I "subscribe" to it, such that when there is a new post, it shows up when I click "Show new replies to your posts". Once I am done with a thread, how do I unsubscribe from it? It's kinda annoying that (for example) just because I once posted in the car rental master thread, I now get notified every single bingle time someone else is looking for one...

I assume you are talking about email notifications every time someone posts? In the top right corner of the thread there is an option for 'unnotify'. Conversely, in a thread that you never posted in theres an option for 'notify'. Somewhere in your profile settings theres a list of all the threads that you are currently getting notifications about. You can delete a bunch at a time there. Also in any email that you get saying theres a new post in the thread you're following, theres an option to unsubscribe.

I cant say for sure but i dont think he means notifications on threads he never posted in. He means the threads he posted in...when someone posts something new hew has to know about it when he clicks on show new replies...not in his email. So I think his Question is when he doesnt want to see any more replies to a certain thread...how do you you get unotified when you click show new replies.

Maybe if you delete that one post in the thread?

I had a similar question but totally opposite. How do I see new replies in a thread (not in email) if I did not post in thread but rather want to keep up with thread without having to look for it every time?

I don't get it. How does that help me removing a cerain thread from the "Show new replies to your posts" page?
I plea guilty for posting in the Bluebird thread, I can't finish up with the guys there.

Once you change that setting, you will be able to click "Show new replies to your posts", check off the box(es) on the right side of the screen corresponding to the thread(s) you are no longer interested in, and click "ignore topics".

I meant to modify my post a bit- I wanted to ask how to unsubscribe from emails in one click, without selecting "unnotify" every time I write a new post.

After I reply to a thread, I get emails every time there is a response until I select "unnotify" from the top of the thread, or from my home page.
