Another pretty good deal: The Nikon S1 mirrorless camera and 11-27.5mm lens for $149.
 
This is not quite up to par with the Sony or Micro 4/3 mirrorless cameras (the sensor is slightly smaller), but will beat any regular point and shoot hands down in every way (other than size, of course). The Nikon mirrorlesses are considered to have the fastest focus performance of any camera out there – this particular model could shoot up to 15 frames per second while maintaining autofocus. For comparision, the Sony mirrorlesses go up to 10-12 frames per second, a regular DSLR is 3-4.5, and most P&Ss are only 1-2. This camera is a great option for kids or sports.
 
Red only, and also includes a free Nikon case. The 11-27.5 lens is similar in range to the more common 18-55 or 16-50 lenses, meaning it’s a good, useful standard range.

There is also a tremendous used market for these lenses, so building a real system is a relitive bargain. The sensor is a bit smaller than the Sony’s, but the image quality is more or less equal (the Sony will have a very slight edge in low light).

Let's clarify an important point - for 99% of people here the Sony a5000 is a better and cheaper camera. But if you're interested in seriously growing your lens set the Panasonic is worth a look.
