Reviews seem really weak on Amazon.

As I've said multiple times on DDF, The Nikon 1 system is one of the most underrated systems out there. People love to complain about certain things (and they are often right), but at the end of the day these cameras do things that cannot be done by some far more expensive cameras. I'll generalize here, but dollar for dollar, the 1 cannot be beat.

Now about the flooding reports on the AW1 - underwater equipment floods all the time. Not many consumer-level products are built like subs. O-rings get brittle, dirt gets caught in the deals, The camera drops and develops a hairline crack. Heck, I've had two of my own GoPros flood.

GoPros now come with free accessories bundled. Different stores have different bundles, but they all seem to be worth around $40. Amazon for example includes a headstrap and 32GB memory card (they call it the "Starter Bundle"); B&H will give you the same, or a choice of $40 in GCs.

It is not clear whether these will be included when the cameras are on sale. Adorama is running a sale now, and they aren't bundling anything - hopefully that's not an indicator of what others will do.

The S110 that I got 22 months ago, had a piece of the screen break off, and the camera doesn't always start when I power it.

A couple of years ago Hasselblad slapped their logo on certain Sony cameras and lenses, and marked the price up by 500%. Utterly ridiculous, and they were roundly made fun of. The stuff sat around for ages, and ended up being sold at fire-sale prices (but still more expensive that the Sony originals).

Now however there are two legitimately good deals availible on lenses for the Sony mirrorless cameras (NEX et. al.): The Hasselbad 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 lens is now $499 vs. $898 for the Sony version, and the 16mm f/2.8 lens is $149 vs. $248.

If you’re in the market for an additional lens for your Sony, these are scereaming good deals.

The 18-200mm will essentially combine both your lenses into one, while delivering better image quality (especially at the long end).
The 16mm has a fast aperture, so it's great in low light and for out of focus backgrounds. It's also a pancake lens, so it's even thinner than the 16-50.
