That's not what it says on the page you linked, but I'll take your word for it. Probably gonna go ahead and order it. Thanks!

The two lens kit is the regular kit + another lens. So whatever comes with the basic kit, comes with the two lens kit.

And all Canon refurbs carry a 1-year warranty.

Hi,

I hope folks here can help out:

P&S photographer (meaning no knowledge of aperture, f numbers, sensors other than what i've read in reviews, but wouldn't mind playing around on the right camera) looking for a compact digital camera to shoot kids indoors ie. school plays, parties, etc (low light situations) for around $250.

looking at an S110 refurbished with 1yr canon wrrnty for $250. (although concerned about the "lens error" problem seen on reviews)

Found a SX710 for similar price in Israel (under 1,000nis, so currently about $260).

I am concerned about zooming with the S110 in low light will cancel out any better low light properties. Does the higher zoom on the sx710 help with that, or is that question totally off

Also is an ELPH 350 worth looking at...
(sorry if these questions are laughable)

thanks for help!!

It's a little more than you are looking to spend, but I'm VERY happy with the Panasonic Lumix LX7. Takes much better indoor pics than any P&S I've ever had.

I bought this ebook which does a great job of explaining all of its features and when/why/how to use them, for someone who's coming from the P&S world.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Cyber Monday in November in the Canon refurb store, week 3. Some great deals this time around as well.

SL1 DSLR and 18-55mm lens for $280 (also available in white)

Powershot N camera for $90

Powershot SX520 HS camera for $140

Powershot G16 camera for $280

A couple of last week’s are still available:

75-300mm Lens for $70

Powershot G1 X for $270 (pretty amazing price)

ETA, another great deal:

SL1 with 18-55 and 75-300 lenses for $300
I should get the G1X over the G16, by far (being the same price), correct?

Great deal!

The Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens for $89.95 on Ebay.

This is, IMO, the first lens one should buy after a kit lens. It’s cheap, small, and does incredible things. When you see on of those pictures with these beautifully creamy out of focus backgrounds, it was done with a lens like this. On APS-C (T5i, etc.) sensors this makes a lovely portrait lens. All in all, this is one of the best bargains in photography, made even cheaper today.

This sells for $105 on Amazon where it has 4.5 stars out of 4,523 reviews.

For anyone shooting landscapes, milky way, or auroras, one of the best (and cheapest!) lenses went on sale for the first time in recent memory.

The Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 is tiny, lightweight, and wicked sharp. For shooting stars and auroras, it’s even sharper than Canon and Nikon’s own lenses (which cost $2k+). These are manual focus only (which you’d be doing anyway in these situations), and are the latest version with the focus-confirmation chip (meaning the camera will assist you with the focusing).

Adorama via Ebay linky

Canon version (works on both full frame and APS-C): $249.99
Sony E version (regular NEX/mirrorless): $249.99
Nikon version (works on both full frame and APS-C): $279.99

Amazon deals:

Sony a6000 body only for $398

Sony a6000 camera with 16-50mms lens for $548

Both also include a free memory card, case, two spare batteries, and a spare charger.

Both are the cheapest ever from Amazon. Also available from Adorama or B&H.

Nikon D3200 camera with 18-55 and 55-200mm lenses for $397 at Adorama

Note that these lenses are the latest VR II version lenses, not the older VR versions.

Amazon has the same kit (plus a bag) for $497.

@SF, seems like the refurb SL1 cameras are still available only for cheaper, since the one with the 75-300 lens is out of stock I decided to look at the camera and lens separately. At at total of $299.98 ($249.99 for the camera, $49.99 for the 75-300 lens), this is the same no-brainer, correct? Or am I missing something?

ETA: Just found the original bundle still in my cart and in stock for $269.98, I'm gonna go for that :)

Adorama has a amazing starters video kit for $646

You need to go to "create bundle" and add the 25mm lens for $49

Lumix G7 + 14-42mm kit lens + 25mm f/1.7 lens + audio techinca stereo shotgun mic.

Full price for all of these separately is around $1300.

Google around for reviews, this is a solid kit. (Even shoots 4k)

GoPro Hero – the lowest, cheapest version – is on sale for the first time in memory.

Target: $129.99, plus $20 GC. This is the cheapest ever, considering the GC.

Amazon: $119. Slightly cheaper by itself, a bit more than Target + GC.

seems like a strong deal

Good price, but Gray Market. ZERO warranty support from Nikon, even if you're willing to pay.
