What is the best card for non-travelers?
« on: June 23, 2008, 07:46:33 AM »
I don't travel much, if at all (haven't been on a plane in 9 years) so travel perks aren't worth much to me. With which card would I get the best bang for my buck. I am already grandfathered in at 5% on gas with a Chase Perfect Card but would like to get better rewards for other purchases as well. The Chase Freedom looks like a good option with 3% on your top 3 categories but there may be better ones out there. I would prefer not to use Amex since many smaller stores don't accept it and I don't like asking an owner fun unzerer to give up such a large cut that they take. Thanx.

I found that Fidelity Investments offers a card that gives a flat 1.5% deposited directly into a Fidelity account including their checking. For spending other than whatever will be your top 3 categories, that seems pretty good.
