AMEX opening and closing accounts

I recently closed a platinum account for which i received 50k points. they put a specialist on the line who interogated me why i opened the account, that i once had a smimlar account, etc. they also notated the account so i shouldn't get any more offers, signup bonuses.

A. How long does this notation last for?

B. is there a way to avoid this in the first place?

How long did you have the card?  I've read that you can close by Secured Message, maybe that would avoid this sort of notation?

A. It's notated on this account, each account's notes are separate. IMHO they won't see this next time you apply.

B. You probably just had bad luck and got a nasty rep. Never tell them you're signing up for the bonus, and have an explanation on-hand about why you're applying again in case they ask about previous accounts.

P.s. Even for this app I'd HUCA and pray to get lucky.

If I close Amex plat I have 30 days to use the MR points, unless there is another MR card active.
What if I close the plat and afterwards open another plat within 30 days? do the points remain?

Theoretically Yes. If you get approved any MR  would replace cancelled card .
