Didn't say it was NYC exclusive. I always giggle seeing all the folding chairs in PIT streets left to reserve spots. Though in NYC the chairs would just be taken

Just add it to the pros of suburban living.

R Dan, just wondering whether the problem u are dealing with may be more highly related to the supercarrier United, which together with AA seems to really just lose it whenever there is a storm (perhaps bc they rely on so many aircraft from other locaitons that like dominos every route gets screwed, vs smaller airlines that just go back forth). Jetblue has been flying all week (even a flight to CUN on Sunday!). United and AA are complicated dinosaurs and half ass everything, though their point values may be great in good weather.
In any event Staten Island is the best place ever. 31 inches, and I am warm and toasty in CUN. Logic peeps. logic.

NYC doesn't need signs or chairs. If you dare to take someone's spot your car will surely be keyed in the morning.

2 things on your link. First of all, it shows totals for each winter, not single day or storm totals. And second of all, it says explicitly that they're using the weather station data from CLE, but curiously they eschew the station data in Chardon for city records.

I played around with the station data here using the link below, and was unable to find a single day total higher than the 23 inches mentioned in my other link.
