SD: better year-round weather (and cheaper housing). LA: better schools and restaurants.
Both have ridiculously high housing costs and horrendous traffic.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I'd say only LA has horrendous traffic. SD just has bad traffic.

Interesting stuff. Basically CLE, DFW, NYC, and MIA all have roughly the same amount of pleasant days per year.

And you won't find anywhere more comfortable than SoCal.

LA and SD by far. But you'll pay $$$$$ for that.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Not buying it. Naples has 97 and Miami has 68. And they are 2 hours away... Or one blip on the map.

Someone posted a much better map up-thread.

Hawaii has better weather than SoCal. And isn't a huge earthquake hitting any day now...

HI has hurricane threats. I was there a year after the last major one in 1993 and it wasn't pretty.

Further away than Chardon and Cleveland.
CLE is not in the snowbelt.

Beachwood is in it, though Chardon is the heart of it.
I know that we're discussing temperature, and not snowfall, but a little distance can change alot.

Pleasant is so subjective.
My father lives for the 60 and overcast days...

...which is perfectly comfortable based on where he comes from. He's probably loving our weather now and every June morning.

There was a much better version of this thing making the rounds a while back - could've sworn it was posted here. Basically it let you select the temperature range, instead of this fixed metric (daily average of 55-75, high and low within 45-85), so you could search for your specific favorite weather.

Distance is not nearly as relevant as the fact that one's on the gulf coast and the other by the ocean.

FWIU Dallas isn't humid most of the time.
And houses are still pretty cheap and apparently has a booming young Jewish community. I think it's a great place to move.
