HOURS SPENT IN CONGESTION:
Los Angeles: 102
NYC: 91
Miami: 64
Boston: 60
Chicago: 57
Dallas: 54
Houston: 50
Detroit: 35
Cleveland: 18
Hours I spend in congestion: 0. The bike lane doesn't have any. Oh, and I can ride all year long except for a handful of rainy days.

Is that a pro or a con?

The only traffic I have is if one of my kids are taking snack from the steps to my basement at the same time that I am going down.

Not my part of Lakewood.
I could be anywhere and it would be the same. Re-read what I wrote.

I read it. You seemed to imply that you have no traffic outside your house. Did I miss something?

Yes. The inference of where I "commute" to.

I know people who cherish their train ride as an undisturbed time for learning.

Paging @TimT. Didn't this commute discussion occur up thread?

While @aygart can probably commute in his pajamas, in a way mine is slightly better, as it involves a short outdoor walk for sun and fresh air, and more stairs for my daily exercise.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Vice did a pretty good on piece on the subject (despite the title, there's a bit about public transportation too).

such a ridiculous ending. "something to be said about coming home at the end of it all." spending 2 hours alone commuting vs 4 hours alone commuting is an immeasurable difference (and those who have less, harei zeh meshubach), and transfers (vs a one mode (train/bus) commute) wear you down. this is such a key consideration in where you choose to live.

How many times does Dan need to tell you (regarding cons of Cleveland) that Beachwood is NOT Cleveland?

:)

The number matters for people who need to work downtown. Obviously if you don't need to work in a city center the number will be much less.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.
