Western union with a CC
« on: November 23, 2012, 03:23:54 PM »
If I want to send someone in us 20,000. Western union is charging me 148$ the points il make is around 320 $ so it should b worth it instead of giving the Guy a wire transfer or a chase person to person, but my only fair is tht it would b marked as a cash advance on my bill,
Can any one here confirm from experience,
If no C A charge on card maybe it can b a new mint deal (tht ill leave to Dan )
My point isn't working the system cuz I gotta pay the Guy I'm just hungry for some extra $/points

Are you sure it's 20k? It seems like a very high limit for s/o new. My max to send was 3k w/ a very high fee.

Don't try w/ Citi.
Try a few dollars on a different card and see how it processes.

Send a few dollars locally.. . it'll probably cost about $8.

You can have some cc companies lower the cash advance limit to 0. Doesn't always work, but worth a try

Don't try w/ Citi.

+1 Citi + financial transactions = lethal cocktail.

I don't think other banks will confirm the transaction if it exceeds the CA limit, but I may be wrong.

Without a doubt. Western Union is the very definition of a CA.
