Eh, poor argument.
There were Jewish uprisings during the war. None after. They think they are in the thick of it.
(obviously don't support them, just saying this is a ppoor argument)

I guess an Arab stays an Arab and can't be bothered by the facts; there was plenty of terror and blowing-ups by the Jewish underground in the days before the state was founded....

Really?!!?! were they targeting civilians??!?!!? how many were suicide bombers?!?! are you refering to the king david hotel where they warned the british beforehand??

The only truly despicable one which comes to mind is the altalena which as usual was a self directed wound, orderd by ben - gurion and executed by Rabin and the target was holocaust survivors including menachem begin.

I wasn't saying we were as bad as the arabs, just saying that we didn't get Israel by wowing the world with our IQs

In general there is almost always more than 1 version to each story. If you go to Kiryat Arba you can hear a version of the Baruch Goldstein story that is very different than the "official" story.

Truth is the whole thing has nothing to do with the discussion at hand as all the "versions" differ in the motives not in the facts of what happened.

I heard that he claimed that an Arab told him that they were gathering weapons in the mearah (cave) and were planning a massacre of their own so he preempted.
Not saying it's true or not, just what those close to him say

That's the version I heard from my tour guide when we went to Chevron. As you said; not saying which one is "truer" its possible that the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Anyways the thread degenerated. Point is; Baruch Goldstein was an exception, not the rule and definitely not the way the Jewish nation went about getting a home for itself....

True. My point was to highlight the inaccuracy of the original statements, i.e. "We have not seen a single Jew protest by killing people". Unfortunately, we have.
