Wedding Night Hotel in NYC
« on: May 17, 2010, 11:27:07 PM »
Hi

We're getting married in June in Crown Heights, and we're looking for a good deal on a nice hotel for a night or 2. Any ideas?

Any help would be appreciated!

why not? getting aperson with top status to reserve a room and use pts for an Upgrade  can get a person at times some very nice rooms. I know someone who has given their nieces or nephews some very nice rooms (Suites) as their wedding present for the night of and at tims for an additional night or 2

Try Jersey City Hyatt - get views of NYC and a quick train/boat ride to NYC w/o Manhattan prices. Also check in in twice and you qualify for the "welcome back promo" a get a free night in any Hyatt.

Can you check in and out on 2 consecutive days at the same hotel to qualify for the free night promo???? Also, if you take 2 rooms on the same day, does it qualify?

Guess this answers my question:

"ELIGIBLE STAYS: For the purposes of these Offers, an “Eligible Stay” shall be defined as one (1) or more consecutive nights at any participating hotel or resort when choosing points or miles, paying an Eligible Rate, whether or not the guest checks out and back in during such period; award stays shall not constitute an Eligible Stay. Hyatt Gold Passport members will only receive credit for one room, per Eligible Stay, regardless of the number of paid rooms during the Eligible Stay."

Checking in and out during one stay does not count as a 2nd stay and even if you take more than once room its still one stay.

Do you have any miles/points?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Just a thought-- while pulling the usual second-guest shtick works without issue 98% of the time, do you want to risk that other 2% occurring on your wedding night.

I actually booked a hotel for my brother on his wedding night at the PHNY and listed a friend as a second guest, and then had him check in before the wedding to make sure that there were no issues. I thought I was so smart until the key deactivated for some reason during the wedding, and my brother was not even listed on the reservation. BH I was able to clean up the mess in the middle of the night (don't remember how), but you don't want to be dealing with that. Also, brides tend to attract attention, which possibly makes the whole second-guest thing more complicated.

Just a thought.
