Just remember it's 10k increments, so will end up costing you ~.7cpp for Hilton points.

Pls elaborate.

For simplicity's sake I'll use round numbers. 50k MR = 67.5k VS = 120k Hilton (7.5k won't transfer). At 1.6cpp for MR it would effectively be .6667 cpp for Hilton.

Now that I'm doing the math, there are better numbers to transfer which will net Hilton at a lower price, e.g. 60k MR = 81k VS = 160k Hilton, effectively netting Hilton at 6cpp.

The lowest transfer for optimal rate would be 200k MR, which would net you 540k MR @ just under .6cpp Hilton.

15K MR = 20,250 VS = 40K HH. If MR=1.6cpp then you are buying HH at .6cpp
26K MR = 35,100 VS = 70K HH.  If MR=1.6cpp then you are buying HH at .5943cpp
52K MR = 70,200 VS = 140K HH. If MR=1.6cpp then you are buying HH at .5943cpp
63K MR= 85,050 VS = 170K HH.  If MR=1.6cpp then you are buying HH at .5929cpp
100K MR= 135K VS = 270K HH.  If MR=1.6cpp then you are buying HH at .5926cpp

Weird, the link I posted is misleading, says nothing about 5k increments (just says 10k VS = 20k Hilton).

I am planning on staying in the Waldof Astoria in Park City for a 5 night stay and a 3 night stay- my options run as follows- use 88,889 MR and 66,667 MR using all my discounts or I can stay in another hotel in the area for roughly $3,000.00 in a regular hotel room. Is using my MR for this a good value.

Also, if I get the Citi HH Reserve card, and get Gold status, how good is the Waldof Astoria for suite upgrades?

Your MR is worth about $2500 in cash, so in this instance it would seem it would be a better deal to xfer to hilton and save the cash.

When does this end? How long is Virgin transfer to Hilton take? So names have to match?
