Any good business school in Finance?

Hi guys, I am planning to go to grad school in Finance next year. I want to stay in new York though. I know the school like NYU or Columbia is awesome. Besides that, anyone have any suggestions for the rest of Business school which is good at Finance? Thank you

You do. In terms of finance, it's Columbia and NYC Stern. Outside of NY, there's harvard, wharton, chicago, kellogg, etc...

Nah. Took a few classes in stern and was wholly unimpressed by the caliber of students there.

I am in one of the NYU programs. For finance I would look into Baruch Business school.

Rightly or wrongly, it matters not what your personal perspective of the students were. The fact is Stern's reputation is stellar.

Ever taken the GMAT or studied for it?

Know what the range of scores are to be accepted by NYU?

Nope. All I can tell you is most of the students struggled with the basic math in an intro to finance class. In basically slept through it and these guys were complaining about how hard it was. Befriended the one other Jew in the class who did not have a hard time either

Not sure how that could be as the GMAT tests both english/grammar skills as well as math...

Either way it's not really your place to tell someone asking for information about their choice of educational path that they're not suited to it, especially based solely off of one poorly written comment in an online forum.

OP, are you asking about other top schools, or just any NY metro area schools with graduate degrees in finance? MBA, or MS in finance?

I am asking MS in Finance around NY metro area. I know those schools like NYU, columbia are good but just too expensive for me. I am thinking some inexpensive but good quality schools. any suggestions?Thanks

I don't know if you're Jewish or interested in a Jewish atmosphere, but Yeshiva University (Sy Syms School of Business) offers an Executive MBA program.  Though an EMBA requires years of prior managerial experience, which it doesn't seem like you have, from what you wrote.

Baruch Zicklin school is considered very good (not on par with COlumbia, NYU) but still good and its a city school so it is much cheaper.

True.. was just saying that it is possible, although not probable, to get a job at a top Ibank from Baruch.
