True Blue vs Skymiles Vs Ultimate rewards
« on: January 01, 2013, 10:25:07 AM »
So I and wife are going to vegas in Feb for 3 short days - leaving early morn sun/mon coming back red eye tues/wed.  I have 3 options for flights:
50K Skymiles (i have plenty of miles)
41K true blue ( i will have to redeem from membership rewards)
54K Ultimate rewards points booked directly through the site.

Any suggestions on which gives me best use of the points?
While i'm at it, any nice hotel/casino recommendations i can use SPG, MR or skymiles to book free (i'm looking at bellagio/wynn/aria/venetian or similar?

Thanks all!!

I would probably use up the b6 points first, def not the UR points, they are pretty valuable.

Even though I would need to use 51K membership rewards points to get the b6 points? I actually have no  points so I would need to use all MR points

@OP, your point balances aren't that high, I don't know if you'll find anyone to buy them, but unless Vegas tickets are very expensive you're better off selling them or using them elsewhere vs. using them for these tickets. MR > B6 is a really cr@ppy value...

For $250, don't bother burning points, if you're short on case sell some points.

Woops- meant that tickets are about $350...

If you can find tickets for 20-25k points per ticket, go for it, otherwise, like I said, better sell or save them and pay cash for the tickets.

As for hotels in Vegas cash is gonna be the way to go you can check using jetsetter or Orbitz with the 15% off code or try calling a travel agent I think there's another good site for Vegas hotels mentioned somewhere on the forums, I don't remember what it is right now
now but search for it

Than forget it, either buy if around $300 or less, or use 25k delta points.

Assuming DL has 25k availability...
