Nope  :(
Probably not until closer to the end of the year I'm guessing.

For people who do a lot of CC spending but dont do any paid hotel stays then a CC would be the best way to earn free Hyatt nights.

Rumor was they were going to offer a signup bonus, plus a free FFN every year just for having the card, plus a number of suite upgrades that could even be used on award stays, plus a loyalty bonus of 1-2K points for every stay you've made at Hyatt over the past 2 years.

Nice, especially for those that really took advantage of the FFN promo ;)

Well it's out and it's disappointing!

https://www.mychasecreditcards.com/hyatt

It's good for a signup I guess ($75 for 2 FFNs), but not worth keeping past a year.
It has none of the rumored amazing benefits except no forex fees.

Would you say this is the best card to use abroad (for non-major purchases that need warranty etc.)?

If you're getting it for the 2 FFNs then sure.
But I don't see any reason to keep this card past the first year.

Incredibly disappointing.  have to hand it to Hyatt, they really built up the hype with the last few promos but I think they are in for a hard anding now that their 3Q promo and the credit card incentives are so weak.  1 point earned per dollar puts them way behind Starwood Amex in value per dollar spent.

But I don't see any reason to keep this card past the first year.
The reason would be if you're living abroad. If you value *points at 2.3-2.4 subtract FOREX you're losing .3-4 cent per dollar spent. As opposed to the Hyatt card where you're making 1.2-1.6 cents per dollar spent.

So it would seem that this would be the best card for ppl currently living abroad.

If you were an existing Hyatt Platinum member, this card was pretty useless.

Plats would get two free nights like everyone else, but the Platinum status from the card signup was of NO
benefit since they already had it and they wouldn’t get their free nights confirmed in suites

Gold members and below would benefit from this card IMO.

There isn't anything below Gold.
Platinum is 5 stays so very easy to get even if you're gold.

Why is everyone avoiding the points I'm making.
Which card would be better for extended foreign stays? (ie living in Israel)

Actually:
Base members (Gold) get 2 free nights.
Plats get 2 free nights and 2 suite upgrade certs good on paid Hyatt stays of up to 7 days.
Diamonds get 2 free nights in a suite.

Yes, it seems this is a good card for Forex for the first year.  I'm not sure if it's worth keeping the card after a year as there are no renewal benefits for the $75 fee.

Definitely is a churning candidate though.

I'm not seeing first year free.
and again, what option would you go for? The only other one would be CapOne, and if you're spending 10k+ a year (easy for us married guys) you're basically making back the annual fee.

The GP folks on FT said that.  You can call Hyatt to confirm, but folks have already received emails confirming that after applying.

Who ever said the first year is free???  I'm just saying that the 2 FFNs more than negates the $75 fee the first year, however I can't see myself paying another $75 for a 2nd year just to keep the card.

I have a Schwab card that gives 2% cash back with no Forex, so that's what I use overseas.
