Shame there aren't any chain hotels here aside from Fairmont...
Not much to do there aside from Beach anyways. Go someplace better.

Is a cruise out of the question?

Bermuda was just very overpriced with nothing really unique to it. I did not see any need to over pay to swim with dolphins or do water sports there. The only thing we really enjoyed there was a glass bottom tour of the Bermuda Triangle at night.

They took us out at night and showed us some shipwrecks and served some drinks. Was very eerie when they would turn out the lights and it was just black out. The shipwrecks were really cool and had lots of wildlife around it as well.

As they took us out into the Bermuda triangle, they do not fail to mention many many times that you are in the shipwreck capital of the world, in the middle of the night, on a glass bottom boat, in the Bermuda Triangle.

I see flights for $270 r.t. in the summer from NYC. Is that a decent price? (Direct). Should I go for it or head somewhere else? Is it going to be packed in August? And is there Kosher food? TIA for any help.

Is there kosher food there?
Is a weekend enough time to see/do everything there?
Always use an Amex, you'll thank me one day.

Bermuda is close by but no other reason to go there above the Carribean etc.

Beaches are average and hotels are subpar and expensive

Does anyone  disagree with this?

Have a friend that is trying to convince that I'll enjoy Bermuda more than the Caribbean islands.

How would Bermuda compare to the Caribbean in your humble opinion?

It depends on the time of year. I went to Bermuda July and thought it was really nice, conveniently close by, and had a lot of mileage availability. However, during that time you are risking hurricane season. Additionally, as you get into winter Bermuda isn't as warm as the Caribbean- so the Caribbean is definitely preferable during that time of year.
It was definitely a really nice island with nice hotels, but since the weather doesn't work into your favor most of the time, the Caribbean might be easier.
To note: The hotels are on the expensive side. There are 2 Fairmonts and mostly independent hotels,
