I don't have proof but that's what the instructor in my defensive driving course said

FYI, I came across a random No Standing sign in NYC. I forgot where exactly, it may have been a construction zone or something. It had white letters on a red background.

Is it ever legal to double park if there are no parking spaces?

When alternate side parking is in effect. Don't know if that's the law, or they just officially don't enforce it because it's not possible otherwise.

I'm wondering legally because I received a double parking ticket and I read somewhere that if either there is no loading or unloading zone within 100ft on either side or no spaces its legal
So I'm wondering if this is true

Could be no parking. Could be parking in front of a driveway. The reason I asked is so that whomever has answers for Palm Tights, might not have them without sufficient information.
